Podcasting

I enjoyed my second opportunity to create more podcasts. This time around it was much easier because I knew how to use audacity. Although, I still managed to have a little trouble saving the file as mp3's. Once I figured that out it was easy! I was able to successfully edit the sound clip to make it flow together and then post them to my groups advocacy site.

Digital Video

I have experience with taking videos in the past, but never edited any video until last week in class. Last class was my first time taking short video clips and them putting them together with a video editing program and adding sound and special effects to the video. Although, my group did run into some problems! We were never able to put our entire video together with sound and video all in sequence. It was a learning experience to say the least. After my video editing experience I am now more knowledgeable on how to use video editing software and how to add external audio to a video clip.

Podcasts...

When I think of podcasts, I think of iTunes! But, I know there are many more types of podcasts than iTunes :) A podcast is a series of digital media files that can be downloaded through the web. You can either directly download a podcast or view a streamed podcast. Podcasts are audio files, I look forward to learning more about podcasts this week in class and also create one :)

A little about Wikis...

So, two weeks ago in class I learned what a wiki is and we even created one! A wiki is a website that allows you to create and edit a number of linked webpages. It is a good way to create a collaborative website. Right now in class we are currently creating an ITSopedia and also a smaller wiki in a group of 3 we created a wiki for our advocacy topic. It is pretty neat to be able to create a website with others all being in different places! It is also a great way to collaborate with others on a specific topic and get many insights.

So, this is my first time being a solo blogger. This Fall my family and I set up a blog for my brother who played football at PSU and just graduated in December. This blog will contain information on what I learn about Web 2.0 tools. Stay tuned for updates...
